User Types
A user type is the user's title and by extension dictates their level of responsibility. A user type is associated with a corresponding set of user rights that determine what functionality can be performed in Expert. Below are the standard user types listing their traditional responsibilities:
Broker (owner)
- Holder of the brokerage office license
- Has access to all deals
Agent
- Works under a Broker’s license to originate deals
- Has access to the deals that have been assigned to him or her as the Agent
- May have access to deals assigned to another mortgage Agent where they are a member of the same group
Associate (junior agent)
- Works under an Agent for training or deal pooling purposes
- Has access to all deals where he or she is the assigned mortgage agent
- Has access to deals that have been assigned to him or her as the Associate.
- May have access to deals assigned to another mortgage Agent where they are a member of the same group
Regional Manager
- Responsible for all Agents within a specific region.
- Has ‘view only’ access to all Agents within his or her region.
Administrator
- Looks after the administration of deals either on behalf of individual user or the firm.
- Can be assigned at any level of the hierarchy

If assigned to an Agent, then has access to all deals of that agent.

If assigned to an Agent who in turn is assigned at the Group level, then has access to all deals of that Group

If assigned to an Agent who in turn is assigned at the Region level, then has access to all deals of that Region

If assigned at the Firm level, then has access to all deals of the firm.
Assistant
- Responsible for administration of deals for a particular Agent; usually paid by the Agent and is not an employee of the Firm.
